Tournament

There is no Arena over here, and if there were one I'm sure I would not like a format with tokens and other complications. I like things simple. Player A invades player B a few times, then duels him, then player B does the same to player A. The winner moves up and on. It would have level groupings, but lower level players could jump up if they wanted to, although I have not given this a great deal of thought.

Before we have a tournament, we must know who is interested, how it is organized, when we will have it, ect.

ideas for consideration:

5 duels, 5 invades.

for the 'duel' enforce it to being strider (or a.n.other set easily available general only), then for invades - allow people to use whichever general they wish.

lower level goes through in event of a draw.

brackets? I guess that depends on how many applicants you get. if you only get 3 people turn up to play - we might as well compare stats. Otherwise I'd say get everyone to post their level as they sign up and then split up into groups as you get enough people to make it worth while...

I'd suggest a first round of swiss seeding - then from there use a knock out tournie to determine a winner.

Well your the clever one trinity. You figured my BSI out with out my telling you. and I will boot my army down to zip if need be. This is a great Idea. Should be very interesting to see who I can parry with and win. I can hit the High King Eric (G) and win so I am curious to see who else I can tackle and win. I know not you. Your smarter than the average CA player.

so far, it looks like we have 3 tiers for the tournament. level 80-149, level 150-300, and level 300+.
Trinity II, Clifton, Q-Hill, megaDave, Fred, CAPPS, Don, and Radagast in the top tier.
Only Ginger and Zenkitty in the middle tier.
Only CY in the bottom tier.

I would like to have at least 10 people in each tier to start. The more, the merrier. Can some of you listed above encourage other players to join?

I have no comments yet on the website i found to host the tourney, does that mean everyone thinks it is OK, or does it mean no one cares?

The tournament is almost ready, but still accepting more contestants. I used Myspace to set the tournament up as an event. The MS link is http://mysp.ac/oHWjCl. Go there if you want to join.

If you press the "find tickets" button on the event, it takes you to a tournament page listing the keeps of all the players in the tournament.

The player are seeded in order of their battle wins (battle wins minus losses) with the highest number getting the lowest seed number.

I would like to have enough players to have brackets for level 80-149, level 150-299, level 300-499, and level 500-999. That does not look like it is going to happen. By combining the top two brackets, we have enough players for one tournament.

After the tournament started, some more lower bracket players wanted to join. If we can get enough of them together, we will go ahead with a lower bracket.

Another way to look at it is that you won your bracket since there was no opposition.

Yes, Capps and I have both attacked each other, he won hands down. I attacked dark because she attacked me and I was going down my "attacked by" list and realized she couldn't beat me, but I could beat her...nonofficially of course
