Keep it civil.

Do not post another player's keep link. If you have a beef with someone, settle it yourself. If you're being harassed, try a message to the offending player first.

If you're a high battle/war rank and someone is hitting you, please keep the whining to a minimum. Don't get a rank that you aren't willing to defend or face the consequences of getting.

What PvP rules do you use? Here are mine.

1. Nothing is personal. It's a game; it's supposed to be fun.
2. Only attack players of only one rank below, or higher ranks. (I have expanded this to two ranks below since I can't find any players of higher rank.)
3. Always approve every friend request, even when it is from the jerk that chained you before and who now wants to get away from your attacks by joining your army.
4. Just because you can, it doesn't mean you should. Only attack players 20 levels below to 50 levels above yourself unless they attack you and won't leave you alone.
5. Chaining other players is a perfectly acceptable response to their attempt to keep a rank they can't defend.

Interesting. Everyone has their own opinions on what is or isn't proper in PvP. I don't think there's any one set of rules that can work for everyone.

I have to ignore your rule 4. As far as I know, there's only 1 other player within that range. I do have to ask why limit what you can attack up? If you can beat someone 300 levels higher, why wouldn't you?

There are level blocks at the lower level to make the game "fairer" for lower level players. A level 20 player can't attack a level 40 player, and visa-versa. I impose level blocks on myself for the same reason. I am currently level 150. I can attack any player level 80-670, but should I? I don't think so. There is no way a level 80 player can defend against me.
I tried Ginger The Hutt at the last PvPvM. I was level 125 and he was level 85. He is probaply the best player under level 100. His defense is somewhere around 1,000! I dueled him using Penelope against his Celesta and won. He used Vanquish and Lilith to try to beat my Strider in duels and he still lost. I have an army of 501/501/501/501. My weakest soldiers are the 200 barbarian captains I am currently replacing. How is he going to win an invasion when my weakest soldier is the strongest soldier he can get? This is no longer a challenge, it would be like a level 80 player attacking a level 30 player.
The same is true in reverse. How would you feel as a level 500+ player if I started attacking you and beating you every day? It would be informative, but it wouldn't be much fun....

By posting my rules, I just wanted to open a discussion to see what other people are doing. I am in no way trying to imply that people should follow my rules. They work for me. As you say DoR, they would not work for you since there are so few players near you. I have already amended them myself because I can find only one Prince in the game. She can't beat me, and I can't beat her. I can't advance in rank by chaining generals for 1 battle point and high generals fo 3.

DoR, I thought about it and came up with this answer: If I do PvP, I want it to be about skill, not just skill points. Someone too low will have no possibility to beat me even if their BSI is over 9. If I beat someone 300 levels above me, it is because they are not built for PvP, or have made a build error. It is not skill on my part. Players near me in level have had all the same opportunities to develop thier character that I have.

Two analogies to illustrate. Reguardless of what good shape I am in (high BSI), I sould not be able to win against a professional boxer (200 levels above me). If I do win, there must be some problem. Also, when you see a teenager (level 150) pick a fight with a little kid (level 80), no one is surprised when the teenager wins. Most people would rightfully call him a bully.
