Gold Medals

I really like the VK runs gold medal monsters from time to time. My problem is with the mass amount of damage that 1 or 2 individuals will do on these monsters, ruining the chance for other people to get in on the action.

The last Red Plains was a great example of this. A grand total of 8 people were able to get a gold medal on it. It died in less than 6 hours. The top person, over 100k kills. This took away gold medals from at least 11 other people.

I understand that not everyone who joins will be able to do the required damage and no everyone will be able to get in on these battles but it would be great if there was more thinking of other people.

I came home about 8 hours after it start to find it dead, I had been out all day. I had two characters ready to participate, enough stamina and FP for them both to make it gold. I wonder how many others run into that situation.

Because I have a PvP build, I must do slow kills, so I usually stay away from gold medal runs. When a player joins a non-medal-run monster after me and does over 50 times the kill credit for the monster and kills it before I can get kill credit in, I usually find some way to thank the player for causing me to waste my stamina and energy.

That said, the red plains you are talking about WAS announced as a gold medal run, and it was the summoner who did the most damage, so I really can't see any fault there. I am sure the summoner, and others, would be happy to join your gold medal run summon to help you get a gold medal if you asked them.

Well, why bother inviting anyone else if one is only going to let a select few get the gold. Is it that hard to wait 12 or 20 hours and then kill it? It allows others to get their damage in AND saves you FP. Seems like win-win to me.... I must be missing something.

I'm not familiar with that particular battle, but sounds like they really jumped the gun. Foolish and selfish battle.

There's no "super gold" for killing it early. It only matters that it falls within 24 hours. Certainly the more people who can get the required damage the better. And it's a more efficient use of resources since the person who did over-damage didn't get any better rewards for it.

Let's organize another one for when you're ready to get it.

That's a really nice post DoR and I appreciate it. How are you doing on Gold Medals? I wouldn't mind holding one but it doesn't need to be RP. There are a bunch I still need.

Yeah Yooper got a little overzealous on his Gold Medal WORP. I talked to him about it. If we are gonna do gold medal runs we wanna make sure as many people as possible can get it. I have completed all my gold medals but will still help others get theirs.

When is our next gold medal run?

Apart from alpha class summons, we don't need too much lead time to make one happen. A day will probably be enough for things like skaars, hydras, dl's, gens, and rags. The things smaller than that often just happen that way without being announced as such. The alphas up to this point have all required someone to do massive damage, like well in excess of 100M. It's mostly a matter of someone making clear that they want to make the attempt. The rest is just scheduling. Weekends usually work better though.

I have Schedueled a Gauranteed Gold Medal Azriel on JUNE 15th........... I will use FPs to kill it in the last hours if I have too. pass it along, I'd like to get as many Heavy hitters on as possible.

If you do the required damage/kills in the 24 hr time limit do you get a metal? I was on a Gold Dragon and it was killed in the 24 hrs., I did my 60 power attacks and didn't get anything special. I have tried to locate more info on Gold Battles and rewards with not luck. Can some one please help?

I am planning to summon a Genesis for a gold medal run on Friday Morning at 6 am CDT. You will need 2.5 Million damage to score the gold

I appreciate you going to the trouble to plan ahead and do notices Weldon. You ought to do fine. Having a full tank to fortify as needed won't hurt. A day's notice for a 100M boss is probably enough. However, if a bunch of gens pop up in the interim you might want to reschedule. There's a guy that's trying to do a gold at the moment unannounced on a 600M boss. The first notice that anyone has of it is 1 hour into it. Unless someone digs deep into their wallet that one's not happening. When you summon it your link will be
